Rejuvenated Zebras record back-to-back wins for 1st time in 16 months

Reflecting on last night’ fine 2-2 draw at Rossington Main in the Toolstation NCEL Division One , Brigg Town gaffer Lee Thompson admitted to conflicting emotions when he spoke to the Bootiful game post-match.

“Mixed feelings” Lee told us.”We started just how we finished on Saturday-very brightly- very bright and could have been two up after six minutes. We kept going and got the deserved goal after 20 minutes. Then they had a player sent off mid way through 1st half, but to be fair we were the better side even when they had eleven men. We went in one-nil up at half time but knew they would come out a different team”.

Thompson went on” Credit where it’s due even when we went two-nil up they kept coming at us , and eventually got their goal which put us on the back foot, and we just couldn’t  pick the final pass out for us to put the game to bed. Then they got the equaliser”.

Lee was philosophical about the result. He told us “We would probably have taken an away point before the game as they sit fourth from the top. But overall I’m very pleased how the lads are growing into this league. We ran out of steam in the last ten minutes, but overall they can be proud of the performance tonight, especially in that first half”.
