Stocks looking at Cup to get Swallownest back to winning ways!

On Tuesday (16th) Swallownest are facing Swinton Athletic in the 3rd round of the Sheffield and Hallamshire Senior Cup. Where the winner will face Frickley Athletic in the 4th round who ply their trade in the Evo-Stik South League, writes Mitchell Radford.

Before losing to Brigg Town on Saturday, Swallownest went 5 games unbeaten in all completions and only narrowly lost to Brigg 0-1. Watched in front of a very good crowd of 151 (4th highest attendance in both NCEL premier and Division 1).

Jordan Stocks, Swallownest manager had this to say on Saturday’s game and the upcoming fixture against Swinton:

“After the disappointment of Saturday we have a perfect opportunity  to bounce back with a cup fixture. Personally I’ve come across Swinton a lot when playing and you always get a very hardworking, committed team who all play for each other but you always get a few players who can be game changers, so we as a team will need to be on it not just with the ball but also when we don’t have the ball.

“That aside we will concentrate on what we are good at, playing a high tempo game,  taking the game to them, and the incentive isn’t just to get back to winning ways but a tasty fixture against Frickley Athletic in the next round!”
