Anderson knows the importance of tomorrow’s test

It’s a warm TBG welcome to Knaresborough Town’s player-coach Greg Anderson. On Saturday, the Toolstation NCEL Division One leaders welcome seventh-placed Campion to  North Yorkshire-and although Gregg didn’t miss Campion’s goal fest last weekend, he’s more than happy with his side’s own form, writes Colin Muncie.

Gregg told the Bootiful Game “We are looking forward to another home game and hopefully carrying on our winning league form at Manse Lane. We are on a good little run at the moment, beating Selby and Grimsby at home and Worsborough away scoring 10 and conceding 1. The games at this stage of the season are all important and we know that the game against Campion is a must win to keep the other teams behind us! It does get frustrating when games are called off- but you can’t do anything about the winter weather!”

Gregg feels that Campion will provide a stern test for his team, but feels that Knaresborough are well prepared for the game. “Campion are in a good bit of form at present and scoring 11 last Saturday is some achievement!” Gregg noted. “We will have to be on our game to try to get a positive result against them. I’m sure they will fancy their chances and are after a bit of revenge after we beat them 2-0 at their place earlier on in the season. We have trained well this week after the match against Maltby was called off on Tuesday and the lads are full of confidence and looking sharp -and hungry for more success in January. The squad is looking really strong at the moment and the players are looking forward to another big league game”

“Hopefully we can get another big crowd- the fans have been amazing so far this season for us!”.
