In the past few minutes NCEL Premier Division side Worksop Town have announced their new first team manager.
A full statement on their Official website reads:
Worksop Town are delighted to appoint Duncan Milligan as the new First Team Manager. Milligan takes the reigns immediately and will be in charge for the Tigers game vs Clipstone FC this coming Saturday.
He brings with him his own group of backroom staff including the vastly experienced John Buckley as Assistant Manager and Rick McGowan as Sports Therapist, Craig Spink has unfortunately decided to leave the Club at this time despite being offered the chance to stay in various capacities.
Duncan, 34, is a UEFA ‘A’ License coach and holds an impressive CV which includes LMA Management qualifications. He is the Head of Academy coaching at Balby Carr and has helped bring through the likes of Harry Dunbar, Callum Fielding and Igor Mlynarski into our successful Under 19’s and now first team. He also managed the very successful Doncaster Belles team, he has worked in America and also scouted for Oldham Athletic in his time.
Milligan said on his appointment ‘I am extremely proud to be leading the Tigers at Sandy Lane and I will be giving it my all to make the fans proud and build a winning team. I want to provide reassurance that professionalism, stability and character will he brought to the forefront. This is a very exciting time for the Club and I ask our loyal and passionate supporters to get behind the owners, management team and our players, all of whom hold aspirations which will undoubtedly restore the clubs fortunes over the short and long-term’.
Clubs spokesman Jake Brown said ‘We are delighted to welcome Duncan to the Club and hope to have a very long and successful relationship together. He is an outstanding coach and manager who fits the Clubs long-term vision perfectly, we hope you will all join us in welcoming Duncan to the Club, ushering in this exciting new era for the Tigers’.
