Thompson convince Brigg have enough in locker to get out of relegation zone!

After two fine results in and around Christmas, Brigg Town’s uptick in form –which took them off the bottom of the table-has hit a bit of a speed bump following two consecutive defeats in Toolstation NCEL Division One. On Saturday, Brigg head to Derbyshire and an intriguing battle with Dronfield Town –and Zebra’s ever-positive Manager Lee Thompson is hoping that his players can do a League double over Chris Millington’s side, writes Colin Muncie.

Lee told that the Bootiful Game that he had a new recruit as his team looked forward to the trip to Stonelow Road “We’ve signed a new winger from Barton town so good news after losing two players to Australia . We also have a couple of players coming back from injury in the next couple of weeks. We have two midweek games coming up as well so there are a lot of points up for grabs in the next couple of weeks. We know we’re in a relegation battle and I’m still convinced we have enough in our locker to stay out of the bottom two.

Lee is taking some encouragement from the reverse fixture at Hawthorn Avenue back in early September “ We beat Dronfield at our place last time out but I’m under no illusion that Saturday will be a different test. There’ll be no pressure on the lads; they will know what’s expected from them job- wise.

“Hopefully we’ll put a good team performance in- and come home with three points”.
