Gill strengthening squad in preparation for a tough rest of season

Recent off-field events see Hall Road Rangers in twentieth place in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division. On Saturday, Rangers welcome third-placed Maltby Main to Howarth Park-and Hall Road Manager Bill Gill is hoping to apply the positives from last Saturday’s high-scoring NCEL League Cup defeat at Liversedge into another important game, writes Colin Muncie.

Bill told the Bootiful Game “Maltby have hit good form which has shown in the league table, moving them up into the top three this month. The reverse fixture (a 2-1 Maltby win at Muglet Lane in mid-September ) was a tough encounter which we lost out in on the last kick if the game -which shows they never give up and go to the very end We were unlucky not to take something from that game with clear chances in both halves which we didn’t convert”

“Last week showed once again going forward we are unplayable at times” Bill said “and I’m hoping that we can continue this again on Saturday. It’s disappointing to score three goals and not win the game- which is why we are working on stopping things at the other end this week in training”

“We have a couple of new players in this week but it may be too late for them to feature for this fixture -but both are very positive signings to push us on in the last part of the season”.
