RIMMINGTON: We will be ready for the challenge…that’s if lads don’t keep dropping out

We’ve already heard newly beard-less AFC Mansfield Assistant Mark Ward’s take on tomorrow‘s clash with fourteenth-placed Liversedge at the Forest Town Stadium in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division –but no weekend preview would be complete without the thoughts of Sedge’s colourful Manager Jonathan Rimmington-who started by promising the teams chasing the Bulls that his side won’t be going there to make up the numbers, writes Colin Muncie.

Jonathan told the Bootiful Game “It’s going to be a tough game, but I can assure everyone in the league we will be going there to win. We know it will be tough as ,once again, we look to be struggling for a team for one reason or another -but the lads that go will hopefully put on a similar performance to the one at Pickering (a 2-2 draw )at Christmas. We travelled with 12 players, our substitute had his first run out since an ACL injury, striker Joe Walton played centre-back back and a midfielder at right back -and to be fair, we did brilliantly”

“This also is going to be a tough one but we will be ready for the challenge -that’s if lads don’t keep dropping out” he added.

Jon has obviously noted that significant change in facial characteristics in the opposite technical area. “I have been looking for a false beard -as looking across to the Mansfield bench won’t be the same -but I can’t seem to find one”, he quipped, adding “All joking aside, we will compete and hopefully get another game under our belts as we are extremely rusty at the minute. We will however be going with confidence as we have a few good players at the club and on our day we are a match for any team in this league.”

“I just hope it’s one of those days”.
