“The Danger Dogs” offer an entertaining fan’s perspective ahead of Pontefract’s trip to Parkgate on Saturday

What a time to be alive, what a time to be a Ponte Colls fan. Home gates are on the up, the Management team have drilled a continental free- flowing attacking style of football into the team, which has generated an average 3.70 goals per game.

The second-best defensive record in the league makes us formidable opponents- a lot of the organisation at the back is down to player coach 37 year old veteran Luke Jeffs!

Looking forward to making the trip to Parkgate this Saturday for the first time, always a pleasure to watch Ponte on the road. A steady morning on the golf course eases all the pre match tension that sets in, and around 2pm we will be making the 4.2mile trip from Wath to Parkgate FC.

Saturday’s clash should be a good one. Can the Colls continue their current good away form, which has previously seen us put Worksop to the sword, or can Parkgate … park the bus 🙂 I’m not sure the greats like Adams, Moore, Terry or Ferdinand could prevent our attackers from scoring- tell the Parkgate faithful to expect fireworks on Saturday when the boys are going forward!

Special mention to Paz, Rousey and Jeffsy and the rest of the back room staff who are making Ponte a pleasure to watch -and be a part of- this season.
