Rouse wary ahead of Parkgate test

Almost the last word on this weekend’s fixtures falls to Pontefract Collieries Assistant Manager Craig Rouse, who takes his fourth-placed side to Parkgate on Saturday in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division-and Craig has been keeping a wary eye on Billy Fox’s Steelmen in recent weeks, writes Colin Muncie for the Bootiful Game and the Parkgate FC website.

Craig told the Bootiful Game “We’re expecting a tough game against a Parkgate side who have made some good signings since Billy has taken charge. A lot of pitches take a bit of a hammering over the winter months so it’ll be good to visit Parkgate where the pitch is always in great shape. We’ll go there full of confidence after good wins against Worksop, Rainworth, Thackley and Pickering and we’ll look to impose our style on the game”.

Colls are nineteen points behind table –topping AFC Mansfield, but have 24 points on offer with eight games in hand. “There’s no doubting we are playing catch up in terms of fixtures” Craig admitted “ but it’s a challenge we are relishing- and we’ll attempt to continue our good form tomorrow”.
