It was disappointment for fourteenth-placed Swallownest yesterday as they went down 3-0 in their South Yorkshire local derby with Hallam , who sit tenth in Toolstation NCEL Division One-and Swallownest Manager Jordan Stocks was bitterly disappointed to be heading home on the A57 empty-handed, writes Colin Muncie.
A tremendous Sandygate crowd of 184 watched Callum Greaves put the home side ahead on 11 minutes-but it wasn’t until the last ten minutes that Mitch Dunne (81 and 88 minutes ) made the game safe for the Countrymen.
Jordan told the Bootiful Game “In all honesty I’m gutted we got nothing from the game- not just as a pride thing as a derby -but because I thought we deserved something. But that’s football. We rue our own mistakes in critical areas.
“Fair play to Scott, Stephen and Dean’s team for taking their chances -but we could have done more” Jordan added. “We will pick ourselves up and go again and try to continue our fantastic improvement”.
