Within the past five minutes it has been announced by NCEL Division One side FC Bolsover that former manager Andy Bridgewater has returned to the club as head of “Development of Football”.
Bolsover currently lie in 20th position in the standings and only won their first game under the sole management of Adam Valente on Saturday when they narrowly best fellow strugglers Brigg Town 1-0.
An official statement from the club says:
FC Bolsover would like to announce the return of former manager Andy Bridgewater. Andy met with Chairman Ben Thomas and after a few meetings and discussions agreed to offer his services to the club. Andy has agreed to join the committee and invest his time and efforts into the club. Andy wanted to come in and help his hometown club do all they can to survive the drop. The club is dear to his heart and he has made his intentions clear to Bolsover.
Andy will become head of “Development of Football”. He will be working with the committee off the field helping with sponsorship, marketing and the general running of the club. He will have his input on the field by liaising with Adam Valente and Michael Bohan on a weekly basis discussing new and fresh ideas. Pushing for the best results the club can achieve in this difficult period.
The response has been great from everyone involved with the club. Adam and Michael have welcomed his support. Everyone wants to genuinely do well and turn things around for Bolsover. Everyone is in it for the right reasons.
The players have been fantastic! Turning up week in week out since the club went into a disastrous period. The club went through some dark days recently, campion away being the worst! But after a positive result last Saturday and with Andy joining the club, Bolsover hope to have more better days than worse until the end of the season.
