Pirie sympathic towards grounds keepers with no credit from know-it-all footballers

Twelfth-placed Bottesford Town head to South Yorkshire on Saturday for a difficult-looking match-up with Penistone Church in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division-and the Poachers Head of Media Operations, our own “Great Pretender”, Howard Pirie, is hoping that his side can emulate “Barcelona” on his first visit to the DSM Memorial Ground, writes Colin Muncie.

Howard told the Bootiful Game “I’m looking forward to the visit to Penistone. From a personal note, it’s another ground to tick off. Penistone have done remarkably well in the top flight after getting promoted through the Play-Offs- much like ourselves. We’ve got a few games in hand over other sides so we need to consolidate”

Howard has some sympathy for the folk who try to keep the parks playable at this time of year “We were gutted to have another cancellation on Tuesday but we’ve had a lot of bad weather and grounds men peeing in the wind at times with no credit from know- it- all footballers” he said “Hopefully the weather is finally turning”.

“As in the words of Freddie Mercury- “The Show must go on””
