Rouse anticipating Hall Road to come steaming out of the blocks

Appropriately enough, almost the last word on tomorrow’s Toolstation NCEL Premier Division programme falls to title-chasing Pontefract Collieries’ Assistant Manager, Craig Rouse, who prepares to welcome twentieth-placed Hall Road Rangers to Beechnut Lane –and Craig expects that recent off-field events are likely to motivate tomorrow’s opposition even more than usual in a game he’s looking forward to, writes Colin Muncie.

Craig told the Bootiful Game “Over the last two seasons we’ve had some really good battles; all the games have been entertaining, high- scoring games and tomorrow could be more of the same. Hall Road are a difficult side to play against and have a loyal core of players that play for their manager. They scrap and battle for every ball and anytime you play against them you are always in for a tough game”.

Craig is wary of a Hall Road reaction tomorrow “The fact that they were deducted 12 points probably adds more spice to the game because they’ll come looking to start putting points on the board as soon as possible to put themselves into a more realistic League position that reflects their season up to this point”.

“We’ll look forward to the game and we’ll be going into it hoping to continue our good form”.
