Barrett has come up with a solution if EYC game is postponed…AGAIN!

Big night at Dunswell Park tomorrow evening-weather permitting- when East Yorkshire Carnegie host promotion-chasers Grimsby Borough in Toolstation NCEL League Cup –and both camps had as much of an eye on the meteorology as they did on the game, writes Colin Muncie.

Carnegie’s Assistant Manager Lewis Sarel told the Bootiful Game “Hopefully the game doesn’t fall victim to the weather again but with the forecast it’s not looking great. If we get a game on we are looking to put them under pressure and keep solid defensively. We need to be more clinical and improve our quality going forward, because generally our defensive work is good”.

Grimsby Borough Joint Manager Daniel Barrett is desperate to keep up his side’s momentum and is anxious to get the fixture fulfilled-and he’s suggesting a radical alternative. “We have a few lads with knocks from Saturday so we will be forced to make a few changes -but we have a good enough squad to cover that” Daniel said.”This gives some of the lads who have been pushing for a start to get an opportunity. I have high doubt the game will be on and will be postponed again. If the game is called off again then I think something needs to be done to ensure the game is played at each club’s best convenience -and if that means at a neutral ground, then so be it”.
