McGuire delight as Thackley hit Clipstone for six!

Definitely-maybe-the very last “I” will be dotted and the last “T” crossed on Saturday’s fixtures by the welcome contribution of Thackley’s Joint Manager Pat Maguire following his side’s emphatic 6-0 win over Clipstone in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division at the weekend-and Pat was pleased to see his side enjoy a clinical first half against opponents he’d been keen to accord maximum respect, writes Colin Muncie.

Pat told the Bootiful Game that his side’s preparations had taken a blow before the start.  “This was never a game we were going to take lightly as we’d seen Clipstone’s results get closer and closer in recent weeks -so we knew we’d be in for a tough game. This wasn’t made easier by the fact we lost Lawrence Hunter in the warm up so had to change things around ten minutes before kickoff. The lads were ruthless first half to score six, but just as pleasingly for me , Mike  (Garrod, Joint Manager)and Joe (Brown, Coach) was that we recorded our second clean sheet in a row.

“There is still a long road ahead and lots of work for us to do, starting with another tough game against Garforth on Saturday”.
