Pirie frustrated but puts things into perspective after tough week in the sporting world!

The weather seems likely to claim the intriguing Bottesford Town (12th in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division) versus Liversedge (13th) clash at the Birkdale Stadium in Scunthorpe tomorrow-much to the disappointment of the Poachers’ classy Head of Media Operations, Howard Pirie, who took the opportunity put the week’s sporting events into context when he spoke to the Bootiful Game, writes Colin Muncie.

Dealing with the meteorology first, Howard told us “It’s very frustrating for everyone concerned. The weather has been crazy for the last two months. The boys train once a week, but it’s not the same as playing a match. Our game against Liversedge will be another victim, and the run-in will be mad and hectic -but it’s the same for everyone and, at this level, not a lot can be done. The Fixture secretary must be having a nervous breakdown, and at this rate we will have two weeks off in between seasons!”

“But let’s put it into perspective” Howard pleaded “A young boxer lost his life at the weekend doing what he loved ,and we at Bottesford Town would pass on our heartfelt condolences to Scott Westgarth’s family- and also to Dec Spellman and Curtis Woodhouse, who, every time they step into the ring, run a risk”

“Peace and love to all”
