Stocks delighted for Swallownest, whilst Sarel searches for positives after defeat

It’s up to twelfth in Toolstation NCEL Division One for Swallownest after last night’s 4-1 home win over East Yorkshire Carnegie (17th) at Rotherham Road –and overall Swallownest manager Jordan stocks was pretty happy with the night’s work, writes Colin Muncie.

The home side were four-nil up at the break thanks to Lloyd Gelsthorpe (14 minutes),Jason Short (21) Nathan Morritt (28) and Richard Williams (38 ); and although Dan walker pulled one back for Carnegie early in the second half, most of the 45-strong crowd went home happy with another three point haul.

Jordan told the Bootiful Game “Tonight I thought that in the first half we were effective and positive with the ball. That showed in us scoring 4 great goals. In the second half, to be fair, we relaxed and should have scored more, but I’m not grumbling at a 4-1 midweek win.

“Onto another home fixture Saturday against a good side (Yorkshire Amateur), but once again we go into it wanting to prove ourselves- and to get another valuable three points”

Whilst from the other dugout EYC assistant manager Lewis Sarel said, “We were poor in the first half and going in 4-0 down at half time just shows how poor we really were. It killed the game off and meant we really had no way back into it in the second half.

“That aside we played much better in the second half and were a lot more organised. We look to Saturday now and try and enjoy the cup game.”
