Borough delight as they hit Nostell for six!

We’ve had Nostell Miners Welfare manager Jason Dodsworth’s take on last night’s 6-0 home win for Grimsby Borough at Bradley Road last night-and now the Wilderness Boy’s Joint Managers have their say on their second-placed side’s fine victory in Toolstation NCEL Division One, writes Colin Muncie.

Nathan Collins told us “It was a really good win again tonight against a good side. In the first half we were miles off the standard we expect, but in the second half we stepped it up and moved the ball a lot quicker and our work rate was fantastic. We have a really honest young side with plenty of quality; we just need to keep improving and working hard as a group, and I’m sure we will get our rewards”.

Daniel Barrett pretty much agreed with his colleague’s assessment of that first 45 minutes “We’re very happy with the result and the lads’ second half performance. We didn’t have the best of first halves in my opinion- but we scored 2 very good goals- so although we didn’t perform, we were happy with the score line. In the second half, we executed our game plan well and we played some very good stuff.

“I think it will be a long time before anybody else does Nostell 6-0. They are a hard working team and one to watch next year for sure. We wish them all the best”.
