Rossington Main, sitting tenth in Toolstation NCEL Division One, welcome bottom-side Retford United to the Welfare Ground at the weekend knowing that a win is vital for both sides-and Main Manager Lee Danysz has been doing a bit of swotting-up on the Badgers, writes Colin Muncie.
Lee told the Bootiful Game “It’s a game I’m looking forward to. I had one of our back room watch them midweek and we know we’ll be in for a tough game. I feel their position is false, they was committed and showed quality around the field against Selby. Our game plan won’t change, but we have to be on our A game and make sure we do the basics right and give ourselves a chance. One thing I will be looking for is a consistent performance. Our performance tends to drop 2nd half, and we’ve highlighted this and hopefully the boys will take this on board and be mindful. We have to manage the games better and see us over the line.
Lee offered up some evidence for points dropped from winning positions. “We’ve lost 6 points by leading games and conceding late on to draw games. There’s only the Swallownest game and Winterton games where we didn’t look like winning. Swallownest fully deserved their win and we got a late goal against Winterton. So it’ll be interesting to see how we go with that.
Lee is still freshening the squad up at Oxford Street. He told us “Recruitment wise, we’ve brought in two new fresh faces in Josh Gibbons and Josh Parfitt. Both strengthen us in their respective positions, but Dan Gardner has gone to Worksop. We’ve got nine games left and a difficult period now to secure a top half finish to gain FA Cup qualification, so the points I’ve spoken about need to be remedied to achieve that spot”.
