It must have been his worst nightmare as the weather intervened to give his side a football-free fortnight; but on Saturday, ever-upbeat Lee Thompson and his Brigg Town side, in 21st in Toolstation NCEL Division One welcome Play-Off hopefuls Hallam to The Hawthorns – but, as Lee explains, a club favourite will, sadly, be missing from the Zebras’ support at the weekend, writes Colin Muncie.
Lee told the Bootiful Game “We’re buzzing for a game, to be honest; it’s been a long two weeks with the weather. We’re ready for Saturday as the results went in our favour in midweek but we need to make these games in hand count now, starting on Saturday against Hallam and then next Tuesday against Selby. It’s in our hands to stay out of the bottom two at the moment again, so with 11 games to go every game has something to play for the players. The players know what is expected of them and I am convinced that they will deliver”.
“I’ve got to mention that we lost a good friend to many last week, and Brigg won’t be the same without him. There will be a minute’s silence for Dominic Avison, Brigg Town’s Bar Manager before the Hallam game, and we hope we do him proud”.
RIP Dom (Legend)
