BENN: Games against teams who are desperate for points are never straightforward

Seventh-placed Hemsworth Miners Welfare head to Station View on Saturday and a clash with 19th-placed Harrogate Railway Athletic in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division-and Wells Manager Wayne Benn isn’t convinced that Rail’s heavy midweek defeat will work to his side’s advantage, writes Colin Muncie.

Wayne told the Bootiful Game “On Saturday we travel to Harrogate Railway (weather permitting) and I’m expecting a very difficult game. They are a team fighting for their lives and I don’t think Tuesday night’s heavy defeat has made things any easier for us. I’m sure their pride has been dented and they will want to quickly put that behind them with a positive performance against us. We need to approach the game in a professional manner, be ready for a scrap and hope that our quality shines through”.

“Games against teams who are desperate for points are never straightforward” Wayne warned.”Add to that difficult pitches with the weather we have had, and to be honest it all points to a tough, tough game. It’s a game we need to win; we’ve trained hard this last week and I’m expecting a good performance from my lads

“If I get that good performance, then we will have a great chance of getting an important three points”.
