Tuesday evening’s defeat at Knaresborough saw Armthorpe Welfare defender Danny Taylor return to the their side and reach a significant milestone as he made his 100thappearance for the club (not including West Riding Cup ties).
Taylor joined the club as a midfielder for the 2013/14season and made 41 appearances in that campaign, scoring eight times. However, since then Taylor has seen his appearances limited by work commitments which has largely been responsible for restricting him to 14 appearances in the 2014/15 season, 27 in the 2015/16 season and 14 last season. Tuesday evening’s appearance was just his fourth of this season. He has also featured more recently for Welfare at full back rather than in midfield.
In total Taylor has scored 10 goals for Welfare, the pick of which will almost certainly be his dipping angled volley which set up Welfare’s 3-2 win at Hemsworth Miners Welfare last season.
