Benn wants a reaction to midweek loss on Saturday against Rainworth

Having faced Pickering, Handsworth and Pontefract in their last three Toolstation NCEL Premier Division fixtures, it doesn’t get much easier for seventh-placed Hemsworth Miners Welfare this weekend as they welcome form-team Rainworth Miners Welfare (6th) to the Yorkshire Nu Builds on Saturday –and Wells Manager Wayne Benn is keen to put Tuesday night’s home reverse to Colls behind his players, writes Colin Muncie.

Wayne told the Bootiful Game “On Saturday we face Rainworth and I’m looking for a big reaction to Tuesday’s defeat. We’ve had a run of really tough games and Saturday will be the same, Rainworth sit just above us but we have a game in hand so it’s a big game for two evenly matched teams and it’s one we need to win. We have to get Tuesday out of our system and this game gives a quick opportunity to do that”

Wayne knows that Craig Denton’s team will provide a stiff test “We know it won’t be easy. Rainworth are a good side and have made some good signings over the course of the season” he admitted. “We will need to play much better than we did against Ponte -that’s for sure- but I’m confident we can put that behind us and produce a performance good enough to win the game”.
