Rossington Main, tenth in Toolstation NCEL Division One, head to Hallam (9th) on Saturday in a crucial match-up of two clubs still in touch with the Play-Off contenders-and Main Manager Lee Danysz heads across the M18 to Sandygate happy with the progress his squad has made since he rocked up at Oxford Street, writes Colin Muncie.
Lee told the Bootiful Game that the clubs still in mathematical contention for an extension to their season face an interesting next few weeks.” It’s exciting times ahead for four or five teams. Saturday sees both sides in good form and looking to get the result that propels one or the other in to a good position. Hallam will be boosted by their midweek victory. We are a little depleted after last week’s exertions (winning at home against Retford) taking their toll on us. We will give late fitness tests to two or three players to give them the best possible chance of recovering, but it doesn’t look good; but 72 hours is a long time to recover”.
Lee can see a difference in his players since his arrival at the Welfare Ground.” We’ll go in to the game with some confidence and now I’m starting to see a different mentality from the boys” Lee explained “I felt early doors they lacked belief; maybe that may have been due to not knowing what was happening after Chris (Glarvey) left, as he left the club in a good position; they may have just felt “what’s happened?” And after a few poor results heads were down. On Saturday, though, they seemed to have lifted a little, so now I’m hoping we can start to push on now -as I feel we haven’t hit our true form yet. Time will tell on that. But since coming in I couldn’t be happier with the return in points.”
There’s always a team or two that go on to have a good run at the end” Lee stressed”. It will be interesting to see who that will be as there are a few teams still capable of doing so”.
