Lying fifteenth in Toolstation NCEL Division One, Ollerton Town head north on Saturday for an awkward-looking assignment at 4th-placed Yorkshire Amateur –and Town sharpshooter Kyle Ludlow takes encouragement from a fine 3-3 draw in the reverse fixture at Walesby Lane back in October, writes Colin Muncie.
Kyle told the Bootiful Game “Playing one of the top sides in the league is always something to look forward to. Yorkshire Amateur is always a tough place to go and come away with something. It is a feat we managed last season and we have already played out a 3-3 draw at home earlier this season, so it should be a game to look forward to. They will undoubtedly make it difficult for us as they will have potentially earmarked this game as one where they maybe expect to take points from to further enhance their position in the standings”.
Kyle is certain that Ollerton won’t be rolling over at the Southerns Stadium. “We know that on our day we are more than a match for anybody in the league, home or away, so hopefully we have a full squad available to us to give us the best possible chances of upsetting a side who were probably one of the favourites for the league at the start of the season” he said. ” Last time out at home to Campion we achieved a really positive result off the back of a solid all-round performance, so hopefully we can take a bit of confidence from that game into Saturday, start bright with a decent tempo and really take the game to them”
“We know how dangerous they can be when they get into their flow, so hopefully we can really get in amongst them and not allow them to settle into their rhythm!”
