Ward knows league position means nothing ahead of Clipstone tie

It may, on paper, seem a formality for top of the table AFC Mansfield tomorrow as as they bottom side Clipstone – but as everyone in football knows – any side can on their day – beat anyone.

Mansfield assistant manager Mark Ward is under no illusion that it will be a tough afternoon, despite league positions, “What can I say about Saturday’s game it’s a very strange situation for me in which I really don’t know much about the management team nor the squad at Clipstone as they’ve recently made some big changes.

“The little bits I’ve managed to conger together are their young fit and try to play so no matter how their seasons gone so for or us being massive favourites and all the pressure being on is as it’s top vs bottom if we don’t approach the game with the right attitude they will punish us.

“We’ll give them the respect we’ve shown everyone else but at the same time look to take the game to them make sure we do the ugly side first and trust our quality will make the difference.”
