Colliver preparing for all eventualities ahead of Athersley game

The impact of the recent weather chaos means that it’s going to be a hectic six weeks for all of our Toolstation NCEL teams-as well as here at TBG Towers. Tomorrow night, Athersley Recreation and Handsworth Parramore try to get their all Premier Division League Cup Third Round under way at Sheerien Park- but to do so, the playing surface will have to pass a pitch inspection at 10.00 am tomorrow morning, writes Colin Muncie.

As you might expect, Handsworth Manager Jas Colliver is prepared for every eventuality. Jas told the Bootiful Game “The lads have got their snow boots ready for the game! There’s an inspection at 10am tomorrow; this snow won’t have moved by then with the forecast, so I’m already ringing round places to train! We will be ready if the game gets the green light but if not we will continue to do what we have been doing in terms of preparations. I think that’s all you can do at this stage.”

Jas hasn’t been twiddling his thumbs during the postponements “We have managed to secure a player for a month in a dual registration” he told us “and we’ll possibly look to bring in one or two more bodies before the deadline”.
