Having fielded Shirebrook Town Manager Rob Camm’s response to yesterday’s 2-1 home win over Worsborough Bridge Athletic, it falls to Briggers Manager Lee Morris to apply a punctuation mark to a hard fought game in blizzard conditions at Langwith Road –and whilst Lee was full of praise for the application of both teams, he wasn’t quite so complimentary about the men in black, writes Colin Muncie.
Lee told the Bootiful Game “First of all I want to say “well done” to both sets of players and Management; not one of them moaned about the weather and just got on with it. The conditions were horrendous but they weren’t as bad as the officials- again. I must sound like a broken record but I honestly believe these referees are purposely spoiling games of football because they can’t play the game. Yet again a penalty given against us that wasn’t one; it’s crazy how many we’ve had given against us that aren’t penalties at all.
Lee felt his team were unfortunate not to take anything from the game “I thought we were superb today” he said. “In the first ten minutes we were sloppy, but after that I thought we were well deserving of a point -if not 3.Again, against a top team we have performed and shown we are well capable of matching the top teams.
“I feel for the boys who have been class since the turn of the year without getting there just rewards -but we keep picking our chins up and go again on Wednesday”.
