When you’re planning a long trip during the Easter weekend you have to allow for some hiccups, especially when travelling nearly 600 miles for a National League game.
However, Tranmere Rovers fans were not expecting to make the 5-hour journey to then be told the game was not to be played just 90 minutes before kick-off – with no pitch inspection completed before the game.
Here’s how Twitter has reacted:

I’ll have £100 transferred to my bank for petrol money

An apology to the Tranmere fans who have made a 600 mile round trip and an explanation of why there was no pitch inspection might be in order?

Disgraceful way to treat fans who have travelled 270 miles, especially as one walked the whole way to raise money for a sick little girl. You should give a LARGE donation to @Spideredeappeal

Today’s game at @DoverAthletic has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch

Not funny, just arrived to find this! It has rained all the way down so they must have known there was a good chance it could be called off, pitch inspection should have been done at 11am or before looking at the weather that was expected!! ?
