Higginbottom: Hopefully it will be our fans cheering the loudest at the end of the day

Retford United sit 21st in Toolstation NCEL Division One, five points adrift of safety and having played three games more than twentieth-placed Worsborough Bridge Athletic. Today’s visitors to Cannon Park, Hallam, by contrast, are right in the thick of the Play-Off battle, eighth but with games in hand on those above them. It’s set up to be a terrific battle at the Jones and Co. Stadium-and Badgers Coach Mark Higginbottom wants the Retford faithful to get behind his players this afternoon, writes Colin Muncie.

Mark told the Bootiful Game “We are looking forward to a tough test against an in-form Hallam side. They are up there challenging for the playoffs and we are at the bottom slugging it out, so they will fancy their chances- but, as you’ll know, you can never be too sure in this Division. It’s been quite a frustrating time over the last few weeks as it will have been for most sides because of the weather but this one should be a good game for the fans.”

“Hopefully it will be our fans cheering the loudest at the end of the day.”
