Reflecting on his side’s goalless draw with Worsborough Bridge Athletic towards the bottom of Toolstation NCEL Division One, Nostell Miners Welfare Joint Manager Jason Dodsworth felt that his team edged the contest, but was full of praise for the visitors. He told us “Nil-nil. It was a frustrating evening and we’re disappointed that we didn’t go on and win the game; but credit to Worsbrough -they stuck at it for ninety minutes and could have even nicked it themselves late on. We pressed really hard throughout the game and Tyas in the Worsbrough goal made three great saves to keep us out”.
Jason seems to have found a useful stand-in goalkeeper – yet to be beaten in the last 180 minutes “On the other end, I’m happy that we kept a clean sheet -and that’s two in a row with our forward Joe Thornton in the net”.
“Good luck to Worsbrough in their bid to stay up – I am sure that they will be fine”.
