Morris: Again, as it’s been shown this week -you can’t take anything for granted in football

Nineteenth-placed Worsborough Bridge Athletic, four points clear of the relegation places, face a tough examination this weekend when Campion, in eighth and six points outside of the Play-Off places with five games left, travel to Park Road in Toolstation NCEL Division One-and Briggers Manager Lee Morris knows his team will have to bring their “A” game on Saturday against dangerous opposition, writes Colin Muncie.

Lee told the Bootiful game “We’re expecting a very tough game. Campion are still fighting for the Play-Offs so we will need to perform to the levels that we have set ourselves. They have beaten us 6-0 twice this season -just as I took over -but we are a very different side, squad and we have a much different mindset; so I will be looking to get a bit of pay back for those results.”

Lee set Saturday’s game in the context of a difficult few days. “It starts a massive week for us to try to finish the job in hand” he admitted. “We have a game on Saturday, Monday, Wednesday and Saturday so I’m looking to hopefully pick up some wins this week and pull us way from the drop zone; then we can hopefully enjoy the final week of the season-“hopefully” being a massive word”.

Maybe Lee had a couple of astonishing nights in the Champions League when he said “Again, as it’s been shown this week -you can’t take anything for granted in football”.
