Rangers looking Hansen as they climb out of drop zone

Ever since their 12-point deduction, Hall Road Rangers have been wedge inside the NCEL Premier Division relegation zone – but a superb 3-0 win at home yesterday against Rainworth MW saw them leap frog Harrogate Railway Athletic.

Fraser Hansen bagged a brace whilst Chris Spinks rounded off a superb afternoon for Bill Gill’ s men.

“Today was one of them days where you don’t play that great but you get your goals and three points – we will take that as previous weeks we have played really well and lost games.

“I thought throughout the game we was just edging our 1v1’s in key areas and that was the difference for me.

“Obviously we can talk about the sending off but I ain’t interested to be honest our lads have been on the back of a few bad decisions themselves this year so they deserved their fortunes today and they where rewarded with three valuable points and out the bottom three since receiving our harsh deduction of points in November.

“Everyone’s talking now about the fact we are safe and we have four games in hand and Rainworth dropping out the league will create a reprieve for one of the bottom 3 anyway.

“However we as a group want to finish respectably as high as possible not trying to survive that’s now our mindset. We would still like to finish mid table with the deduction so we can look at the 12pts and see where we would have finished as that’s the true reflection on our season.

“Another positive is we had five reserve / u19s today due to injuries and holidays and they have again showed their worth and these youngsters will be detriment in the last three weeks of the season.”
