Another convincing win for eighth-placed Bridlington Town in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division yesterday ; this time, they put 12th-placed, ten-man Garforth Town to the sword with a 5-0 win at Queensgate yesterday-and Brid Manager Curtis Woodhouse continues to be delighted with how his squad is shaping up , writes Colin Muncie.
Danny Buttle opened the scoring for the Seasiders after 33 minutes and James Faulkner (39) doubled the advantage by half time. The 156-strong crowd saw Jake day (53), Gary Bradshaw (67) and Day again (87, and his 41st of the campaign) round out the win.
Curtis told the Bootiful game “Five goals and a clean sheet so I can’t complain; we played a different way today, opting to be a bit more direct and I thought they struggled to handle our forwards all game,; they gave us the platform to build on. Garforth going down to 10 men was obviously a disadvantage for them -but it’s what you do when a team goes down to 10 and I thought we upped the tempo of the game and dominated from start to finish”.
“As I have said in my previous comments, we are playing really well and the moment and competition for places is fierce” Curtis added “We must continue to develop this group and improve a few aspects of our game -but we are on a very good run”.
“I’ll be looking to make plenty of changes for Monday’s game and, again, give some others an opportunity to shine with games coming thick and fast”.
