After 58-years Sheffield based Swallownest gained NCEL status in June 2017 and since then they have not looked back. Currently they lie 11th in the NCEL Division One standings, with four games left and a top 10 place still up for grabs.
Joint Chairman Mick Kent commented this morning, “As we are now reaching the end of our first season in the NCEL and into our last week of home games, Thursday evening against Ollerton town and Saturday against Grimsby Borough followed by two away games.
“I’d like to take the opportunity to thank you the supporters, the volunteers, and anyone else who has leant a hand this season. The club doesn’t exist without you, and on that note it would be more than pleasing to get as much support as possible for Thursday and Saturday to show our appreciation for the hard graft and commitment given from the players who have proved to be more than competitive in this league.
“With this in mind and the joining of Aston Swallownest juniors, the coming season looks exciting, as a club we will need more volunteers as we grow so please don’t hesitate to get involved if you feel you can help move the club forward, let’s try to make Swallownest the proud owners of a decent club, once again thanks to you all.”
