It’s back on the buses for Bottesford Town’s own Reg Varney, aka their Head of Media Operations Howard “I hate you, Butler” Pirie as the Poachers head to third-placed Pickering Town on Saturday in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division –and Howard is still basking in the reflected glory of Bottesford’s fine win at Hall Road Rangers last night, briefly entering geosynchronous earth orbit as he touched on a great night for his side, writes Colin Muncie.
Howard told the Bootiful Game “I’m over the moon to come away from Haworth Park last night with three points. Apart from ten minutes in the first half, we were in control of the game without capitalising on all our possession. It was a well- worked first goal resulting in a fine strike by Jack Cross and a superb header after the break by John Leonard which sealed the points for us.
Howard’s role continues to expand exponentially at Birkdale Park, but he’ll be slapping on the sunscreen for the trip north. “It can be no coincidence that after Saturday’s debacle against Staveley that the Chairman once again asked me to drive the bus to provide a bit of positivity for the lads as some of them question their own abilities” Howard explained.” They shouldn’t, because as I’ve said before, you won’t find a more honest, hardworking, rude, foul mouthed set of idiots in this Division and I’m proud to say I’m one of them”.
“I’m getting some Factor 30 on my nipper for the trip to Pickering on another away day adventure. Up the Botty. “
