It’s a fair bet that Glasshoughton Joint Manager Lee Vigars headed upstairs with his Horlicks -and a spring in his step -after the results involving Play-Off rivals Hallam and Selby Town came through last night; but with two games to go in Toolstation NCEL Division One, and with his side occupying that gilt-edged suixth-place, he’s getting ready to set the most difficult target he can for the Robins and the Countrymen, starting with a trip to relegated Retford United on Saturday, writes Colin Muncie.
Lee told the Bootiful Game “ We all sound like a scratched CD, but it’s yet another huge game for us this weekend. It was a real battle to get past Swallownest in midweek and it took a lot out of the boys. Luckily, we’ve had three days rest and will go all out to get the win we need to maintain the pressure on those around us. Adam Walsh will be back in the squad after missing the last two through suspension and we’re hopeful Andy Horbury & Conor Glavin can shake off slight injuries to make the match.
Whatever happens, Lee and Darren Holmes (Joint Manager ) have had a super campaign “We really want to finish the season on a high; and no matter how it pans out in regards to the top 6 we couldn’t be more proud of the effort and commitment the lads have shown over the past four or five months” he said.
“They’ve been outstanding -on and off the park -and it’s the players who deserve the credit for our hugely successful season”.
