Gill: Roatation and game planning is essential with fixture pile-up

Right in the middle of their very own version of the “Great Escape”, Hall Road Rangers, occupying that 20th place in the relegation zone, face a tough trip to Sheerien Park this afternoon to face Athersley Recreation, still on the fringes of a survival battle, in 18th place in Toolstation NCEL Division One –and Rangers Manager Bill Gill is keen to turn the tables on the Penguins after a stinging home defeat in mid- November, writes Colin Muncie.

Bill told the Bootiful Game “.Another game quickly comes around -it will be our 5th game in nine days and, after a small slip mid- week, we need to look at turning the screw tomorrow against a good, organised Athersley side. The return fixture was a freak result for us, losing 5-1 at home and it’s one game we still talk about now”.

“Looking ahead, we also play Monday, Tuesday and Thursday too and have to keep the lads fit and injury free -so rotation and game planning is essential”.
