Hallam strapped in as play-off race enters final few laps

With just three games to go in a thrilling Toolstation NCEL Division One Play-Off battle, Hallam are four points adrift of Glasshoughton Welfare and that precious sixth place. Tonight, they can narrow the gap to a single point-but to do so, they’ll have to overcome dangerous visitors in AFC Emley at Sandygate; and the Hallam management boys, clearly focused on the run-in, are expecting another challenging evening, writes Colin Muncie.

Joint Manager Scott Bates told the Bootiful Game “It’s three Cup Finals for us now. We will give each and every team we have left to play full respect; we can only concentrate on ourselves and how we apply ourselves will be key. We are on a good run and I don’t want it to stop; the lads have been great, so I hope it continues”

Assistant Manager Dean Bamforth won’t be taking anything for granted when the Pewits rock up in Sheffield. He told us “ It’s another big game against Emley. They are very inconsistent, but they’re capable of beating anyone, so again we’ll have to perform”.

“We’ve a few knocks as the congestion takes its toll! We’ll shuffle the pack -and hopefully be competitive again”.
