Just four points separate nineteenth and twenty first in Toolstation NCEL Division One , with just two games left; and tonight Worsborough Bridge Athletic meet Brigg Town at Park Road in a crunch, possibly season-defining fixture –and both Managers know what’s at stake, writes Colin Muncie.
In the home dugout will be Briggers Manager Lee Morris, who’s expecting a decent crowd in Barnsley. He told the Bootiful Game “What’s better than watching a game that has so much to gain and so much to lose on a Thursday night. We know Brigg will come and chuck the kitchen sink and more at us tomorrow night- they have to. We have had them watched over the past couple of games and we know what we have to do -and we are ready”
Lee is sure that he has prepared his squad well for the clash “Make no mistake about it; we will have to be at our best” he said “and the lads know that we have done fantastically well to pick up the points we have of late and keep it in our hands.”
“We just need to make sure that at 9-45pm tonight that it’s us that’s celebrating a job well done”.
Zebras Manager Lee Thompson couldn’t be clearer on his objective tonight. He told us “Yes, a must win game tonight; we don’t want to go into the last game knowing we have to win, and rely on other results. We need to get all 3 points if we stand any chance of staying up; we know what is expected and whoever wants it the most tomorrow night will get the points. It’s as good as a Cup Final, so my team talk should be easy and the lads shouldn’t need motivating”.
Lee has been keeping an eye on the Briggers “We know it’s not going to be easy as Worsborough have been picking some good points up lately- like ourselves -so yes, I’m looking forward to watching the lads go into battle.”
“May the best team come out on top”.
