A quiet final week of the season at Haworth Park, then, with just the FOUR home Toolstation NCEL Premier Division games between now and Saturday tea time; tonight, Hall Road Rangers welcome thirteenth-placed Garforth Town to Dawson Drive –and Rangers Manager Bill Gill will use the Miners mid-table position as motivation this evening, writes Colin Muncie.
Bill told the Bootiful Game “Garforth currently sit in a place where we want to finish so we are using them as top of a small league for our remaining 4 games as the incentive. I felt we should have taken more from the first game when we drew at their place; however we lost a key player and our goalkeeper, so it was a good result after all. We know their danger and have discussed this, so if we can stick to the game plan we should get a result –but if we do our own thing it will be a tough night”.
Bill wants to test the extent of his side’s progress this season by finishing the week twelve points better off .“ The aim now is to finish with maximum points and finish as high as we can” he explained “then see where we would be with the (deducted) twelve points added back. Based on today, if we could take maximum points from four fixtures we would be around eighth with the deduction”
“However, we need to just focus on each game and getting a result first”.
