Widdowson blames “dreadful” defending after Clipstone lose to Parkgate

Bottom side Clipstone must have thought that they had a great chance of recording that precious first win when they arrived at Green Lane for their Toolstation NCEL Premier Division clash with relegated Parkgate on Monday night; at the end of the evening, however, the Steelmen had completed a League double over the Cobras, by the same 4-0 margin of victory as at the Worksop Van Hire Stadium at the end of September-leaving Clipstone Manager Alan Widdowson frustrated and dumbfounded in equal measure, writes Colin Muncie

Alan told the Bootiful Game “Missed chances cost us a great opportunity to claim all three points. We played well in patches, with good fast approach play, but our finishing was dreadful. If we’d have taken our chances the game would have been over at half time. We gifted them three goals through poor defending and lack of discipline.”
