Pirie is loving it up at Botty as last home game is today

At last! The Bootiful Game has caught Bottesford Town’s Head of Media Operations Howard Pirie lying down on the job, as he prepares for today’s final home game of the season at home to plucky Clipstone. A win will confirm a fine eighth –place in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division for the Poachers, and from a horizontal position, Bottesford’s “MC Hammered”  offered us his thoughts on the weekend , writes Colin Muncie.

Howard told the Bootiful Game “I’m laid in bed recovering from a highly successful Bottesford Town annual golf day. A good turnout, great weather and although our team didn’t defend our trophy, a good grin was had by all. Our thoughts now move on to Clipstone at home and then Presentation night. Our opponents haven’t had the greatest of seasons but have not griped, got on with it battled till the end. Full credit. From our own point of view, Declan Bacon has scored 40 goals for us and although maybe a little too far from finishing top of the pile can be proud of his efforts. The team have superseded last season’s points total and position.”

It’s been a stellar year at Birkdale Park “ (Manager) John Corbett can take immense pride in his achievements as can the BBA, over 500 followers and they seem to be recognised wherever we go, so long may the banter continue” Howard told us. “Special praise to Chairman Tony Reeve, Bernard Altoft and Chris Deighton for their individual efforts. I hope I can speak for the first team squad and say we have never known togetherness like we have this year. We must continue to poke fun and cajole our players so they don’t get full of themselves”.

“I’m looking forward to tonight and letting my hair down. UP THE BOTTY.”
