Just one Toolstation NCEL Premier Division game left for Liversedge, who’ll have played at least fifteen fixtures in April and May; and it might just be that the frantic level of activity has caught up with the boys from Cleckheaton, as they were well beaten by fourteenth-placed Albion Sports at their Clayborn Ground home yesterday afternoon. Whatever happens this week, ‘Sedge will finish eleventh in the table-but their display on Saturday left Manager Jonathan Rimmington scratching his head, writes Colin Muncie.
Jonathan told the Bootiful Game “Wowzer, we were terrible today. It was as if they just couldn’t be bothered at times. In the first half we were okay with the ball but awful off it; we didn’t compete all over the pitch. It was a very strange performance -it looked as if we had very little energy; we moved the ball far too slowly and gave the ball away far too much -and we let Albion dominate from start to finish. Albion were more comfortable and more relaxed on the ball from start to finish”
Jonathan admits that he’s looking forward to the summer. “I can’t wait for the season to be over “he said “We really have lots of lads injured and it seems the last two weeks have taken their toll on the players that are available”.
Next up for Liversedge is that home League Cup Semi Final tie with Handsworth Parramore. “It’s pretty sad really” Jonathan admitted “but we will see which Liversedge team turns up on Tuesday, I guess”.
