Sizzling Bacon soars in roaring heat as Botty end season in style

It’s journey’s end for Bottesford Town, who completed their superb season with a 5-2 win at local rivals Barton Town this afternoon, finishing their campaign in Toolstation NCEL Premier Division in a well-deserved eighth place. In tribute, therefore ,there’ll be no ham-fisted attempts at clever, crackling word-play at the expense of the Poachers sizzling and smoked talisman Dec Bacon (Stop now !-Ed)-although he did provide a twist in the tail by hogging the goals during an impressive first half at the Easy-Buy Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday( You’re fired !-Ed) , writes Colin Muncie.

Bottesford led 4-1 at the break, and both sides found the net during the second half to see out a 5-2 win for the Scunthorpe side, who claim bragging rights over the Swans over the summer; and the David Lee Roth of DN17, our fantastic contributor and Head of Media Operations at Bottesford, Howard Pirie, felt that his side were as good today as they have been at any time during the long season . Hands-free Howard told the Bootiful Game that Declan had provided the perfect postscript to an amazing season. “Driving home from Barton Town with a huge grin, after overpowering Barton Town 5-2 with possibly best display of season. A big shout out to Bacon- who finished the season with 45 goals -and to every last man in that first team squad. To those people who left us last season for greener pastures, I can tell you the grass is very green down at the Stadio “

It’s an extravagant celebratory away day up next for the Poachers- but as Howard contemplated a fine season as he sipped on his Pimms -through one of those umbrella things -his class shone through as he had kind words for the Bootiful Game staff still sweating over their typewriters with one game left in the NCEL Premier Division -before they head off to Grimsby Borough on Wednesday . “The Club now has the first team in Tenerife for a bit of down time before we go again -achieving.”, Howard reported.“Thank you to Craig and Colin for putting up with my rantings. See you soon”

(Howard Pirie (Head of Media Operations) was reporting live from The Cheshire Cat in Smugville)

The Bootiful Game would like to thank Howard, Poachers Chair Tony Reeve and everyone at Bottesford Town for their tremendous contributions throughout the season. We’d also like to extend our gratitude to Dave Ricardo, Gary Allanson and everyone at Barton Town.
