After 6 successful years Coopz leaves The Owls

It’s that time of year when several illustrious players leave clubs up and down the country – but we have to mentioned Cleethorpes Town’s super striker Marc Cooper who after six years with the Owls – is leaving for pastures new.

Cooper made over 175 appearances for the Owls in his time at the club who have seen a meteoric raise from NCEL Division One to EvoStik Division One South – with a Wembley appearance sandwiched inbetween – during Cooper’s time.

Cooper joined Clee back in 2012 when the club had just been promoted to the NCEL. Their first season saw a fourth placed finished before they won the title the following season – with Cooper scoring over 40 times in his first two campaigns.

The Owls took three seasons to win the NCEL top flight but we’re always pushing for promotion with two top four finishes.

During the title winning campaign in 2016/17, the Owls made it to Wembley in the FA Vase Final. Their first season in the EvoStik saw a 11th placed finish as Cooper played a bit part due to injuries.

We wish Marc all the success in the world in his new quest for success.
