Glavin hoping Glasshoughton can go one better next season as he’s named in squad of the season

25-year old Glasshoughton Welfare midfielder Conor Glavin had has a superb season and helped guide Glassy to a play-off play.

However, they lost to Grimsby Borough in the semi-final but he performances over the season haven’t gone unnoticed and Glavin made it into the midfield of our squad of the season.

“I’m delighted to have woken up to the news to be honest”, said Conor. “It’s a great looking line-up & I’m in very good company with the lads selected so it’s nice to have this season recognised!

“It’s been a good solid season personally, and scoring 21 goals from central midfield isn’t a bad achievement now I’ve had time to sit back and have a look.

“It’s a shame things had to end as they did last Wednesday, but it proves this squad has what it takes to move forward next year and go one further, and if I can reach anywhere near the same goal return, I’ll be more than pleased!”
