Robinson in dreamland after Thatcham’s Vase win

Shane Cooper-Clark’s first half penalty sealed a famous win for Thatcham Town yesterday in the Buildbase FA Vase Final as they beat Northern League side Stockton Town 1-0 at Wembley Stadium.

We spoke to manager Danny Robinson just after they lifted the trophy alongside Captain Tom Melledew:

And once the dust had settled, we spoke to Danny this lunchtime:

“It’s unreal, really hasn’t sunk in yet and I don’t think it will for a long time. To get to Wembley and and to win it is beyond my wildest dreams.

“Everyone behind the scenes works so hard and to repay them like we did yesterday I really can’t put into words how much it means! I have to say as well Stockton Town are a fabulous club and to have the season they have had they are a full credit to non-league football.

“Now for me it’s time to relax and enjoy being Hellenic League and FA Vase winners!”
