It has been 17 months since we launched our first website and we have gone from strength to strength. Our first year saw 354,000 visitors, far more we every expected, averaging just less than 1,000 a day.
However, due to unforeseen circumstances (the site was terribly slow to load), we changed servers and providers and it was the best thing we ever did. We lost around 3,500 articles but it was the sacrifice we had to make.
We launched the new site on 15th January and up to yesterday (26th May), we have already had 309,000 visitors, averaging 2,340 visitors a day – a 217% increase!
The success though is not just down to me (Craig Kendall – Editor) but also to our fantastic online writer Colin Muncie and all the other contributors from the clubs – without them we would not be as successful as we are.
We have been praised for not only our live scores and tables, but our relentless amount of articles, both previewing and reporting on games – we will continue this next season.
During the “off-season” you may think we will have a rest, but no that is not the case. We have already had several player movements and managerial changes – it’s all go, go, go!
Lastly, we are always after writers, not only for the website but for our magazine so if you think you are up for the challenge, get in touch.
