King scoops hat-trick of awards at Ollerton presentation afternoon!

Ollerton Town’s Gav King, took home three of the six awards on offer at the men’s team annual presentation on Saturday afternoon to top off a brilliant season for the prolific marksman, writes Liam Kent.

King ended the season as our top goal scorer, notching an impressive 29 goals in 47 appearances, and he duly picked up the trophy for his achievement. He also won the Colin Gibson Trophy for Supporters’ Player of the Year after he just edged out defender Liam Cooper in the votes by the Ollerton faithful. His final success of the day was the award for Players’ Player of the Year, King’s team mates picking him for his goal scoring exploits.

Liam Cooper did manage to get his hands on an award as he won Young Player of the Year after a fine, debut season at The Lane which ended in ‘Coops’ being our top appearance maker with 49 appearances. Another player who has enjoyed a successful first season with us is midfield maestro Sean Dickinson and he was awarded Managers’ Player of the Year. Finally, the ever-reliable Ben Bowring won the award for Most Man-of-the-Matches after a strong campaign at both central midfield and centre half.

Elsewhere, match day reporter Will Lavelle was given the Dennis Walker Trophy for Outstanding Services to the Club.
